Middelburg - Brugge Belgium

About This Tour...

Countryside, Beaches and Tree-lined Canals to a Medieval City
This tour provides a wide variety of scenic opportunities.  It begins at the NS train station in Middelburg in the heart of Zeeland and travels south through the countryside to Vlissingen.  There, you will take the Westerschelde ferry across the Scheldt to Breskens. The bike route from Breskens takes you along North Sea towns and beach bluffs, passing small villages and windmills along the way. The city of Sluis is the perfect place to take a lunch break before starting the route along the enchanting tree-lined canals to the medieval city of Brugge, Belgium. Once you arrive in Brugge, you will feel like you have gone centuries back in time.  You may also notice a distinct difference in bicycle paths between the two countries.
From Brugge, the only way to return to The Netherlands is by bicycling back to the Westerschelde ferry or taking a train to Brussels midi-zuid station and transferring to the NS International back to The Netherlands.
